So, summer of 2009 found me dating a guy long distance in Boston and now the perfect reason to visit Boston. Let me tell ya, I fell in LOVE with this city! Take NYC scale it down a little and make it far cleaner and walkable and BAM you have Boston. Not only is the city beautiful and full of fantastic history but there is amazing shopping on Newbury St. and great food all around. The guy I was seeing lived in Brighton, and if you can stay in that area DO because it is great. Very low key and slightly removed from the hustle and bustle of downtown Boston. A great restaurant in the area is The Eagles Deli which is a fantastic cheap and delicious deli. We would eat there for breakfast and I highly recommend the sunrise sandwiches. Another fantastic restaurant for both lunch and dinner is Sonsie Restaurant on the fabulous Newbury St. Great clean and simple food with fresh ingredients. It was a little more pricey but still well worth it. Other great sights are the Institute of Contemporary Art, the sea front, and quick train ride over to Salem, MA. Another great thing about flying into Boston is it is CHEAP. I flew each time on JetBlue for less than $175 round trip. Really people get yourselves to Boston its a wonderful city that I will be back to visit time and time again.
